NEW PLANT TO SERVE TOULOUSE REGION’S AEROSPACE INDUSTRY
MACCLESFIELD (U.K.) – Bodycote plc (LSE:BOY), the world’s largest thermal processing services provider,announced today that it will expand its heat treatment network in France with a new facility in Toulouse.
The new location, dedicated to the assembly and strengthening of titanium and aluminium structural parts for the aerospace industry, will be located in Figeac, north of Toulouse, and is expected to open for business in the first quarter of 2013. In addition to heat treatment services such as annealing and straightening of large aerospace structural parts, the plant will also provide electron beam welding, a specialised method of metal joining.
Serving prime aerospace manufacturers and their supply chains, the new plant will be strategically situated close to the Toulouse region’s large aerospace hub to meet the anticipated increase in demand led by new aircraft orders and deliveries, and brings the number of Bodycote plants in France to 30.
