Safety First is our core value, underpinning a positive safety culture so all our people return home safely every day.
ZERO HARM
OUR GOAL
We will deliver sustained year-on-year improvement in safety performance, with the clear ambition of preventing all work-related injuries.
OUR PRIORITIES
Safety Critical Rules and high-risk operations management
Group-wide EHS management system
Governance, training and accountability
Global hazard and opportunity reporting
Establishing a House of Safety
Our House of Safety transformation programme promotes a proactive approach to embedding safety and striving for zero-harm in all that we do, targeting three key priorities that support a world-class safety culture:
1. Leadership
A strong safety culture starts with leadership and is reinforced at every level of the organisation. Through our focus on Daily Management, leaders are driving improvements in working conditions, hazard identification and follow-up actions. By consistently reinforcing our principles and policies, including our Group Health & Safety Policy, we set clear expectations and standards of behaviour.
2. Risk awareness and assessment
Empowering employees to identify, manage and report risks is central to our approach. Job Safety Analysis encourages critical thinking and strengthens hazard awareness, while Risk oversight and engagement encourages managers and supervisors actively engage with teams through site walks where they can observe and address issues directly.
3. Standardised approach
Our Safety Critical Rules focus on the 12 highest-risk activities across our global operations, ensuring a consistent set of high standards aligned with our Safety First focus. Our Group EHS Management System is continually streamlined to harmonise practices across our regions, and by sharing learning from incidents and successes, we drive ongoing improvements.
