Quality Engineer

Job purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist the Site Head of Quality and document the processes to ensure that customer requirements are achieved.

Duties and responsibilities 

• 100 % review of the daily jobs processed in HIP and HT
• 100% review of all jobs prior to assigning to the Operations Department
• Maintain the facility quality database system for customer specifications and processing information, including the management system database (BHMS)
• Responsible for interpreting customer requirements, interpreting cycle data for compliance
• Able to describe problems to customers to assist with correct disposition of product
• Frequent contact with all Bodycote customers and prime manufacturers
• Manage QA Training Program

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
• Technical reading and writing training and/or experience
• Knowledge of HIP process desired
• Exceptional customer service, including knowledge of the customer requirements, explaining the same requirements to the customer, and how the requirements integrate with Bodycote equipment and the facility
• Capable of handling scheduled audits, quality, and/or environmental matters
• Current knowledge of all Processing specifications including Government, Nadcap, ISO 9001 and 14001 and AS 9100 desired
• Use of equipment: scanner, printer, telephone, computer


Working conditions

• Plant/facility environment
• Facility operation 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days per
• On-call 24 hrs a day
• Computer ergonomics
• Potential 40+ hours per week

Physical requirements

• Must be able to sit at a computer or be on the phone for extended periods of time
