Gary Prattis, General Manager of the Bodycote Thermal Processing facility said, “With the addition of the AS9100 accreditation, it further demonstrates our commitment to the Canadian Aerospace industry and to our growing list of challenging, specification-driven processes. We will continue to invest and focus in areas where we are confident we can help our customers succeed.
The aerospace industry embraces AS9100 as a means of improving quality and on-time delivery within their supply chain. Public demand for safety and reliability drives the need for aerospace product quality to be perfect. The most successful way to work towards perfection is through Continuous Improvement. Compliance to quality management systems, such as Bodycote’s own Bodycote Management System (BMS), in conjunction with third party audits is integral to Continuous Improvement.
Certification to the AS9100 standard provides:
Major aerospace primes, such as General Electric’s Aircraft Engine Division (GEAE), Boeing, Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney, are requiring their suppliers to be certified to AS9100.
