A two day conference organised by the ASM Heat Treating Society will aim to discuss advances in the heat treatment of aluminium, titanium and next generation composites.
The conference will take place 25-26th March at the Doubletree Hotel in Anaheim, California and will cover new techniques in heat treating, processing, microstructure development, materials properties and performance.
“Our goal is to provide an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in heat treating, which has such a strong influence on reducing weight, improving performance and providing greater cost-effectiveness in engineered systems,” says organiser, Roger Jones.
The conference will begin with ‘A Historical Perspective on Light Metals Heat Treatment’ by Joe Benedyk of Light Metal Age, and will be followed by technical presentations from heat treating experts.
Among those presenting are Bodycote employees Ben Irani and Geoff Monti. Ben will be presenting ‘Heat Treating and Characteristics of Titanium 10-2-3’ and Geoff will be presenting ‘Salt Bath Heat Treating of Aluminium Aerospace Components’.
A one-day educational seminar on Heat Treating for the Non-Heat Treater will precede the conference on the 24th March.
Details on the conference and complete registration information are available from www.asminternational/events.
