Bodycote is proud to announce achievement of an A- score in the annual CDP climate assessment, evidencing our position as a global frontrunner in climate leadership.
Our A- score places Bodycote well above the global average and into the prestigious CDP Leadership bracket, demonstrating our effective climate management strategy.
CDP, the pre-eminent global benchmark for climate disclosure, has continuously evolved its criteria to reflect the latest in science and market demands for heightened environmental transparency. This year’s improvement was propelled by our robust performance in crucial assessment areas such as climate targets, energy management, emissions reduction, low carbon services, and climate strategy governance.
With our fast progress towards meeting our science-based target (SBTi), Bodycote has raised the bar and set a new target to reduce carbon emissions by 46% by 2030. We have also set new goals to bring suppliers on our journey and reduce emissions in our supply chain.
CDP scores hold immense value to stakeholders, including customers and investors who view these ratings as a key indicator of a company’s capability in managing climate-related risks and capitalising on opportunities. In 2024, over 288 financial institutions with assets totalling nearly US$29 trillion urged companies to disclose through CDP’s rigorous assessment process.
Lily Heinemann, Bodycote’s Chief Sustainability Officer commented: “The recognition by CDP highlights the effectiveness of our direct actions in reducing emissions and enhancing resource efficiency. We remain committed to not only advancing our sustainability agenda but also supporting our customers in reducing their environmental footprints. Our enhanced CDP score is a testament to our dedicated efforts, and we are committed to driving further progress.”
