Credit Analyst

Summary: This position will be responsible for analyzing the potential credit risk for domestic and global customers.

 

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

  • Commerical Collections
  • Analyze and assess the potential credit risk of domestic and global customers
  • Analyze, review and assist locations on items related to customer credit, to include new credit applications, credit limits and credit terms as defined by the company’s approval matrix
  • Ensures unbiased and professionally driven decisions are made with regards to credit holds
  • Ensures that the companies accounting and procedural policies are followed in relation to customer credit
  • Responsible for gate keeping in relation to customer maintenance and new customer setups
  • Generate and distribute various weekly/monthly reports (including cash, projected DSO, bad debt, collection targets)
  • Assist locations with customer collection calls as defined by the service level agreement
  • Assist locations with the research and resolution of disputed items as defined by the service level agreement Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position

  • Education: High school diploma and completion of relevant courses in accounting and credit management or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum three years Credit analysis and/or accounting background
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Must have working knowledge by a combination of experience and training of credit analysis techniques, general accounting and computer accounting applications
  • Must be self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and handle confidential information with utmost discretion
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft
  • Office and databases is required

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

  • Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment
  • Must be able to talk and listen via the telephone for prolonged periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
  • Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job function
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
