Sales Manager


The Sales Manager will penetrate and gain business in the Oil & Gas sector, especially the subsea market space, however not exclusively to this sector long-term. This role will be key in developing a market for Bodycote’s products in the Houston area as well as travelling to South America (Brazil) occasionally.

Essential Job Duties

• Develop and maintain relationships in the US Oil and Gas Industries
• Identify new business opportunities, expand customer base and explore new markets
• Develop and implement sales plans and account plans that achieve aggressive sales growth at targeted margins for designated markets/customers and products
• Prospect for potential customers, EPC Contactors, OEM’s and oil majors, to ensure thorough understanding of the commercial opportunities in the territory
• Cultivate existing relationships and maintain contact with all customers in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
• Raise awareness to target customers in target segments of the benefits and features of HIP PM Components
• Provide needed information on resources required to understand customer needs & requirements (e.g., pre-sales project definition and scoping)
• Develop new channels-to-market in the region: expand sales coverage & reach, increase speed-to-market to uncover pre-RFQ projects & non-traditional opportunities
• Work according to clear financial and performance goals and achieve these goals within established cost and budget parameters
• Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance
• Ensure that all sales data and reporting responsibilities are managed within the expected deadlines using Salesforce.com
• Work closely with the Engineering and Design departments
• Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Material Science
• 3-10 years sale experience within the oil and gas industry, specifically selling equipment or components and ideally for offshore production applications
• Demonstrated ability to identify accounts to target, develop relationships, cultivate opportunities and convert these to sales
• Organized, disciplined with a reputation for integrity, maturity and sound business judgment
• Customer-focused
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demeanor and professionalism to build strong relationships, both within and outside the company
• Proven negotiation and value-based selling skills required
• Outgoing, self-directed, pro-active and creative to be able to identify and maximize opportunities
• Spanish/Portuguese language skills desired
